This is not a classic white wine. During production, Rkatsiteli juice is left in contact with the grape skins for a while, giving the wine its amber color, light tannins, and a more complex structure. It is this style that has made Georgian amber wines famous worldwide
Alcohol: approximately 12.5–13%
Grape Variety: Rkatsiteli (100%)
Producer: Wine & Co
Region: Kakheti, Georgia
Color: Bright amber with subtle orange highlights. The color is reminiscent of aged cognac or strong tea
Aroma: Dried apple, orange peel, chamomile, herbal tea, light spicy notes, dried fruit. After a few minutes in the glass, notes of dried pear, honey, and nutshell, characteristic of Rkatsiteli wines with contact on the pulp, may emerge
Taste: Dried apricot, yellow apple, orange peel, tea leaves, light spice, and mineral notes. Acidity is refreshing and well-defined. Unlike most white wines, soft tannins are present, creating a light red wine-like sensation on the palate
Serving temperature: 10–12°C. Avoid serving too cold, as this will lose much of its aromatics
Food pairings: Pairs well with salmon and trout, smoked fish, sushi and sashimi, shrimp and octopus, grilled chicken, Georgian cheeses, khachapuri, and Asian cuisine
