Ingredients: sugar, molasses, applesauce, drinking water, egg white, gelling agent (pectin), acidity regulator (lactic acid), humectant (sodium lactate), cream flavoring, preservative (sulfur dioxide). The preservative sulfur dioxide (E220), which is used in Neva Slivochnaya Tenderness marshmallows, is approved for use in the food industry and is widely used to prevent food spoilage, in particular to protect against oxidation and microbial growth. In acceptable quantities in products such as marshmallows, this preservative is considered safe for most people by regulatory agencies, including the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
